On Monday 04 February 2019 the RightSeeds Workshop MASIPAG started on the Philippine island of Luzon, more precisely in Rajal Centro, Santa Rosa, Nueva Ecija. Together with the organisation MASIPAG (Magsasaka at Siyentipiko para sa Pag-unlad ng Agrikultura – Farmer-Scientist Partnership for Development), it was developed by RightSeeds and brings together both German and Filipino breeders to create an exchange between them in a joint effort to preserve variety and independence for breeders and farmers.

In the meantime the kickoff day is already over. First the project RightSeeds was presented, as well as MASIPAG and all participants. In addition, the goals of the week were presented and organizational matters were discussed, including a tour of the back-up farm with all participants.
